Strongwell's Multi-span Beam Analysis Software (MSBAS) Windows®-based program* assists you in quickly and easily designing continuous beams made with the following EXTREN® shapes:
- W-shapes
- Square tubes
- I-shapes
- Channels
- Rectangular tubes (strong or weak axis bending)
The MSBAS program computes shears, bending moments and deflections at various intervals and multiple load conditions for up to 17 different spans! The program then performs a design check to determine whether the specified design criteria have been satisfied (such as: deflection, shear stress and bending stress limits). End supports may be free (cantilevered), hinged, roller or fixed (end moment resisting). You can specify the location of lateral bracing points of the compression flange of the member, or define the beam as “totally braced”.
The MSBAS program allows you to print the results of the analysis, including print-outs of the beam span, section properties, selected load cases with the applied loads shown to relative scale, and shear/bending moment/deflection diagrams for selected load cases and/or load combinations. It just doesn't get any easier than that!
